A Chartered Accountant who also happens to have a first class honours degree in Chemistry, Barry is a tax partner in the Edinburgh office of French Duncan (incorporating McCabes), with previous experience working in senior positions in HMRC and several international accounting firms. He advises many hospitality businesses mainly in taxation matters.

From 2003 to 2008 Barry was chairman of the Tax Committee of the British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA). He became a Trustee and Honorary Treasurer of HIT Scotland in 2003 as he feels very strongly about contributing to the hospitality industry with which he has such strong professional links.
