Carol singers rejoice

The annual Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland Christmas party, held in Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza Hotel on the 5th December, raised around £8500 for the charity’s bursary and scholarship programmes.

A carol service performed by St Rose of Lima Primary School from Glasgow’s East End welcomed 200 leading industry figures to the event.

All money raised will be used to encourage and support young people entering the hospitality industry and individuals looking to develop their careers. At HIT Scotland's next event, the Emerging Talent Conference, they will award up to 200 scholarships to talented people in the industry. The conference takes place on 11th February at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow.

David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland, “This year we awarded a record number of scholarships and we recently gave a £100,000 bursary to universities and colleges for their hardship funds. This year has been a fantastic success and it great to celebrate this with our generous supporters.”
