Scottish motor racing legend offers two knight deal
27th April 2008
Two motor racing legends, Sir Jackie Stewart and Sir Frank Williams, are hoping to put HIT Scotland into the fast lane.
Sir Jackie Stewart OBE and Sir Frank Williams CBE, Principal of the Williams Formula 1 team, have agreed to give the winner of a HIT Scotland charity auction prize a unique experience at the British Grand Prix.
The two Knights will take the winner on a personal joint tour of the Williams garage and pit area. Giving two motor racing winners a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet the two legends in the heart and drama of the world that forged their careers.
Two two-day Formula One Paddock Club passes to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, 4th - 6th July, plus accommodation are included. This incorporates all day hospitality in the Paddock Club including gourmet luncheon, fine wines and open champagne bar with seating in an exclusive viewing facility with access to the VVIP area. The winners will have the chance to rub shoulders with celebrities including motor racing insiders in the F1 paddock and pit area.
The prize will be one of the lots auctioned at the HIT Scotland Industry Dinner, taking place on the 1st May. The charity is willing to accept bids before the event.
Sir Jackie Stewart OBE said, “Sir Frank and I are very pleased to be supporting HIT Scotland, and all the work they do, developing the emerging talent of the industry in Scotland. We promise to make sure the two winners have a very good time at the British Grand prix!”
William Paterson, from Charity Auctioneers Scotland, who is selling the lot at the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland Industry Dinner on Thursday May 1st, said, “This prize is unique and difficult to price. I would like to think that it will reach into the tens of thousands; however, with the two Knights involved it really is priceless.”
The HIT Scotland industry dinner raises money to help students studying towards a career in hospitality, tourism or catering complete their course when faced with financial hardship. They also place emerging talent on world-class scholarships to boost the knowledge economy of Scotland’s hospitality industry.
Bids will be accepted before the event over the phone Please call01577 865231 or email info@hitscotland.co.uk to register your interest.
