BE A HIT : BURSARIES
The Hospitality Industry Trust, known as HIT Scotland, is a Scottish based charity, which raises funds to support and encourage excellence in the hospitality industry.
Over 7790 students have benefited through HIT Scotland sponsorship. Through the generosity of the Hospitality Industry in Scotland, we have donated over half a million pounds to Further and Higher education establishments, to use as either individual bursaries or for the benefit of whole year groups to enhance their learning experience in readiness for the challenge of working in our Industry!
Most of the scholarships are based on financial need, academic achievement and the student’s commitment to studies in hospitality and tourism in Scotland.
As well as supporting the students financially, the scholarships also recognise individual achievement and help to build student confidence.
This financial year £105,000 has been set aside by the HIT Scotland Trustees to be distributed amongst the colleges and universities that have applied to the Bursary committee. This committee is ably chaired by Patrick Elsmie, Managing Director of The Gleneagles Hotel, and is made up of industry and educational representatives.
