Are you a leader in the hospitality industry or aspire to move in to this role?

  • 21/01/2015

Come along to the Grand Central Hotel at 5pm on 11th February to find out how you can differentiate yourself and your workforce within the growing hospitality industry.

Following the success of Glasgow 2014 and the Ryder Cup, it’s more important now than ever to nurture the talent of the industry’s future leaders and support them to ensure they are armed with the relevant expertise to capitalise on new opportunities in 2015 and beyond.

The event will see Peter Lederer, former Chairman of The Gleneagles Hotel and Non-Executive Director of Baxters Food Group, provide his insight in to the hospitality industry and the need to support the career progression of young talent.

Chris Sheppardson, founder of Chess Partnership and Chess Executive, one of the industry’s leading executive management and recruitment and consultancy organisations for the hospitality industry, will then take to the floor to highlight the importance of supporting individuals in their quest for self-development and how this can translate in to real benefits for an organisation.

Graduate of the Executive Masters in Hospitality and Tourism Leadership programme at Strathclyde Business School, Stuart Smith, Director of Events and Leisure at The Gleneagles Hotel will then discuss the importance of leadership from an events perspective within the hospitality industry, drawing on his experience of playing a leading role in the planning, organising and execution of the Ryder Cup.

There will also be an opportunity to find out more about our Executive Masters in Hospitality and Tourism Leadership programme delivered in partnership with Cornell School of Hotel Administration, Ithaca, New York and Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland from Programme Director, Professor Alan Wilson.
