The HIT Emerging Talent Conference cooked up at storm recently at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.
The theme of the conference was a Recipe for Success and the ingredients on the day were perfectly mixed.
The sell-out conference of 400 hospitality professionals heard from some of the finest speakers from near and far. HIT Scotland also awarded over 170 Emerging Talent Scholarships which will give individuals the opportunity to learn from the best of the best locally, nationally and internationally.
The speakers focused on inspiration across the board. They included Peter Avis, Restaurant Manager at Restaurant Babylon in London, who talked about his experiences working within the Virgin brand. He was followed by Cyrus Todiwala, OBE, who blended the spices of a perfect story about his illustrious career both at home and abroad.
There was also a range of seminars on the menu which gave insights into entrepreneurial spirit, the future of technology, Michelin standards and a dynamic session which motivated the delegates to inspire the world.
The finale of the day was served up by Sissy Baggers, a lifestyle expert from the USA. Sissy used her extensive knowledge of presentation techniques honed after a glittering career on prime time television to engage the audience about their brand values.
The aim of HIT Scotland is to inspire and support people to be the best they can be in Scottish Hospitality and this conference certainly fulfilled that objective.
