HIT Scotland will be taking its fundraising to new heights in May when a team of twelve intrepid climbers will set out to conquer Gran Paradiso, the highest mountain in Italy.
The team from the various sectors of the hospitality industry had a taste of what is ahead of them when they underwent an Alpine mountaineering skills course in the Cairngorms recently.
Commenting on the training David Cochrane, Chief Executive of HIT Scotland said:
“When you do winter training, you might as we'll take it to the extremes! On this occasion we certainly did, however we were in the safe hands of Wilderness Scotland who guided us off the mountain in gales of 80mph. An exhilarating experience...all in aid of the HIT emerging talent scholarships!”
The money raised from the Gran Paradiso expedition will go towards HIT’s scholarship programme which gives those in the hospitality industry the opportunity to take part in money-can't-buy learning experiences or to study at some of the world's finest hospitality schools.
