More than 120 senior figures from all areas of the hospitality industry, both locally and nationally, attended the inaugural HIT the Roof event on Thursday 22 August at The Glasshouse in Edinburgh.
Representatives from organisations including the Savoy Educational Trust from London and Gleneagles Hotel, as well as chairs of committees and Scottish suppliers attended on behalf of the sector.
Chief Executive of HIT Scotland, David Cochrane said: “This event was a first for many reasons – to say a huge thank you to all the supporters of HIT Scotland, sponsors, committees and trustees. We have always appreciated those who help our individual events, but to bring them all together in one fantastic venue really cemented the collaboration that goes on within Scottish hospitality and beyond. The Glasshouse is a unique location and many people hadn’t seen the marvellous renovation of the rooftop garden area. The Scotch mist added to the mystique!”
HIT Scotland raises funds to inspire individuals to be the best they can be within Scottish hospitality. This year HIT surpassed its 1000th scholarship, and next year the organisation will be celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Leigh Craig, director of sales and marketing, said: “It was fantastic to host this event and have so many prominent hospitality figures supporting such an important and beneficial charity. It was a tremendous opportunity to showcase the newly refurbished Glasshouse hotel and enjoy the rooftop garden.”
